Retail Breakfast Seminar

Retail Breakfast Seminar

PMP Print together with Pacific Micromarketing was proud to host its first retail breakfast seminar series in March 2009, hosted in both Melbourne and Sydney. The theme of these seminars was Connecting Consumers to Your Brand.

With the current economic climate at a low, consumer response to advertising is critical like never before.

It is because of this that we designed a seminar to provide insight across a range of topics, from data, to the creative. Our key note speakers’ compelling content armed guests with ideas on how to connect consumers to their brand more effectively and increase their competitive advantage.

Guest speakers and their topics were:

Stephen Odgen-Barnes, Program Director, ACRS – Global Retail Insights – connecting with consumers

Stephen provided practical tips drawn from global retail trends, retail innovation, multi-channel retailing, retail strategy and sales promotion.

Vic Hodge, Head of Consulting, Pacific Micromarketing – Leveraging the power of consumer insights

Vic demonstrated the power of consumer insights in the retail arena and how this relates to your own target market. He also explored the importance of spatial analysis to help retailers and advertisers understand "where Australia shops".

Simon Burrett, Managing Partner, The Foundry – Catalogues as Brand Building Tools

Simon is a recognised brand strategist professional. Simon presented on the evolution of catalogues and their position in today’s retail market. Gone are the days when catalogues were little more than tawdry rags full of red ink. Today, the customer demands much more from their brands of choice. Research shows that catalogues are a very effective medium with which to tell the brand story. The Foundry’s ‘blood, sweat and cinder’ approach to marcoms has brought a breath of fresh air to the catalogue category, with their ‘Brand Books’ being key pillars of brand transformation strategies for brands like Snooze, BBQ Galore and others – and picked up multiple ACA Catalogue of the Year Awards along the way.
