PMP Limited Clients Win Big at the Australian Catalogue Awards
13 August 2010
The 19th Annual Australian Catalogue awards were held in Melbourne on Friday 6th August 2010.
The night recognises leaders in catalogue design and effectiveness, and celebrated another year of expansion for the catalogue sector, against a trend of contraction with the broader print media segment.
According to Australian Catalogue Association CEO Ken Bishop, while industry growth was a modest 1.6 per cent, it was very strong relative to most other segments.
“And this growth is supported by the record number of 820 entries received this year,” Bishop said. Over 41 judges evaluated the entries on elements including cover impact, merchandising, branding, design, photography, selling power, printing and production.

David Chesser, Executive General Manager for PMP Distribution congratulated all of PMP’s clients who received accolades on the night. “Everyone should be proud of their achievements and their success at the 2010 Australian Catalogue Awards. It was great to see so many clients recognised as leaders in catalogue design and production.”
“The Awards are our industry’s night of nights and one of the only events which showcase our industry’s achievements and recognise the strength of catalogues as a premium advertising medium” he said.
PMP Digital was announced as a finalist in Best Advertising Agency or Retailers of the year category, and designers Rebecca Norrgard and Rebecca Smith from PMP Digital were also finalists in the Best Young Designer of the Year category.
“As Australia emerges from the global financial downturn our industry continues to experience steady growth – highlighting the resilience and effectiveness of catalogue advertising to consumers,” said Ken Bishop on the night.
“As all of you would know, for retailers, catalogues are an extremely cost effective advertising tool and continue to form the backbone of their marketing mix. Recent research indicates 70 per cent of consumers make a visit to a retailer as a direct result of reading a catalogue" Ken noted.
